A Comfortable Stay at Hotel Sara Regency (with a Few Notes)

My recent stay at Hotel Sara Regency in Kumbakonam was overall quite pleasant. The check-in process was a breeze - the staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient, getting me settled into my room quickly. The room itself was comfortable and clean, and I appreciated the amenities like the TV and mini-fridge. It's important to note that the hotel is currently undergoing renovations. While this didn't disrupt my stay too much, it's something to be aware of if you're looking for a completely safe environment. I was worry to see that the hotel didn't prioritized guest safety by didn't put any earning signs or blockage with open wall at stair case up to several floors. I noticed this when we use stair case while the hotel lift was broken. Maybe the renovation already completed by now. The on-site restaurant offered a decent selection of dishes, but I wouldn't say it was exceptional. If you're looking for a truly memorable culinary experience, you might want to explore some of the local restaurants outside the hotel. Overall, Hotel Sara Regency provided a comfortable and convenient base for exploring Kumbakonam. The helpful staff, clean rooms, and central location make it a solid choice for travelers, especially considering the good value for money. Just keep the renovation project in mind if you're sensitive to noise.

Rooms are quite large. But the bathrooms are too small and there is no space between the toilet and bathroom. Its too irritating for me. Foods are ok not super. But the hotel was too good. Overall a neat stay.

Property looks nice on website. Inside, it was not too good. AC did not work in the Lobby. The reception people were sweating and so were the guests. Rooms were also not too good. When we checked in, the bathroom was smelling of urine. We had to call for re-cleaning the bathroom with perfumed floor wash. Next day we shifted to another room. Bed springs were saggy and pillow was not right. AC did not work properly and we did not get a good sleep. Imagine it was month of December when the weather is cool. Not sure what happens in summer months. Breakfast was absolutely trash. Breakfast opens at 7 am, but on both days we had to wait till 7.45 am for all items to be ready. Maintenance is really poor.

I had been a regular to this hotel whenever I visit Swamimalai temple. I had also recommended this hotel to many of my friends based on the quality and service provided. However my recent experience (in Mar 2020) was bad and I could clearly see that the hotel management has lost focus on maintaining the quality/ service. the rooms are not properly maintained, WIFI doesnt work inside the room (you need to come out of the room to access WIFI), food is average (once it was really good). The hotel staff are helpless as it looks like they arent experienced enough to handle client requests. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone anymore unless the hotel management wakes up to revive their quality

Pathetic service and amenities at Sara Regency

I had the misfortune of staying at Sara-Regency from 15th November to 16th November. We were allotted room 202. The rooms were dusty and the menu card placed in the room had a layer of dust. Not sure when the room was last occupied. We ordered onion pakoda for snacks. First time I have seen garlic being deep fried and served along with onion pakoda. In the masala dosa, the potato was microwaved and kept in the dosa. Gushing the food quality we decided to miss the complimentary breakfast. The next morning we were calling the reception from 5:30 asking for them to turn on the hot water. Finally we ended up taking cold water bath. Is it too much to expect hot water for the tariff you charge. The best part is that the front office said they will email the final bill copy to us as their systems were backing up. I have still not received the final bill. I had stayed in this hotel 5 years back and found the service and amenities to be good. Sad to see the slow demise of a nice hotel.
